Zaney Girl & Crafty Girl Weekend Escape Packages include brunch on Saturday and Sunday plus dinner at the Clay Haus in Somerset on Saturday night for only $175 per person. Arrive at 5:00 pm on Friday and crop til you drop until 2:00 pm on Sunday. Valet service by the Zaney Guys is optional and provided for an additional fee.
Super Saver Weekend packages at Zane Trace Inn are $1200 for Friday from 5:00 pm until Sunday at 2:00 pm.
Super Saver Weekend packages at the Craft Farm are $900 for Friday from 5:00 pm until Sunday at 2:00 pm. We provide the space, you provide your own meals, snacks, drinks. It’s just like renting a beach house! Ladies, you can get away for a relaxing weekend for as little as $100 per person with the Super Saver Weekend package! Valet service by the Zaney Guys is optional and provided for an additional fee.

Visit Carpenter’s Market with me
So many people are amazed with our bacon, sausage and great meats. They all come from Carpenter’s Market, located just up the street from Zane Trace Inn. It’s fresh meat, reasonably priced, and cut to order. I interviewed Eric Huston, the owner of Carpenter’s Market, a couple weeks ago. You can watch the video on Zaney Girl TV!
A couple years ago, some people from Wisconsin were visiting family in Somerset. They brought a whole cooler of cheese with them to give to their family. After eating our bacon and sausage, they placed a special order with Eric. He packed their meat exactly the way they wanted it and froze it for them. They left with TWO coolers of sausage and bacon! Some guests have cleaned out the meat case with their special requests! After one retreat, the ladies loaded up with their families’ requests for bacon and sausage and literally bought every ounce that Carpenter’s had in the store.
During Chocoholics Weekend, we special order thick cut bacon for our chocolate covered bacon. Eric orders a slab of bacon, about 7 – 8 pounds, and cuts it into 1 inch slices for us. Then, he packs it according to our request. We cube it, fry it, and dip it in melted chocolate. Then we roll it in crushed almonds. YUMMY! We also get tavern ham from Carpenter’s and cook it slowly on low heat. The secret is drenching it with a bottle of Frostop Rootbeer. It is wonderful–tender, flavorful.

Making Videos for Zaney Girl TV!
Last week we visited Terri Reichley at Rosey Red’s Floral and Gifts in Somerset to video an interview about her store. It is a very nice store, just 3 doors down from Zane Trace Inn. It’s been there over 20 years but Terri just bought it this summer and has been changing things. Renee is the floral designer and does amazing work–she did the window toppers and fireplace arrangements in the kitchen at Zane Trace Inn as well as the table arrangement, wreath, and window toppers for the Craft Farm. Terri recreates beautiful things out of old things, like window panes, storage trays, and wooden planks. Suze L from It’s Only Paint fame (she & sister Patsy painted Zane Trace Inn & the Craft Farm) also recreates really cool primitive furniture out of garage sale finds. Besides all the cool artsy stuff, and the pretty floral arrangements and fresh flowers that smell wonderful, Rosey Red’s also carries very interesting gift items and candles. I hope you check it out the next time you are in Somerset.
